Hunting reservations are on first come, first served basis. Hunters - 25% of hunt cost required for initial deposit (cash or personal check) with a signed contract. Another 25% due January 1st, the year of the hunt. Remaining balance/final payment due 30 days prior to hunt (personal check or cashier's check) -OR- upon arrival to trail head or ranch (cash only). Upon booking you will be supplied a list of gear to bring for the trip, directions to hunt area and registration forms. COLORADO

NOTE: All pack-in hunts are 7 day trips --- pack-in/pack-out days and 5 days of actual hunting

The Wilderness Horseback Elk or Deer hunts:
Pack in 7 miles to base camp on horseback. Hunts are conducted in unit 12. Largest elk herd in North America. Base camp is at 8,200 ft. elevation. We hunt up to 10,000 ft., our spike camps are 6 miles and 3 miles from our base camp. Our hunt area has excellent elk population and habitat. Hunt area has grassy meadows, surrounded by dark timber, aspen tree and fresh springs. We have elk for all seasons and have lots of elk every year in the areas we hunt. 

 Wilderness Horseback Rifle Guided Hunt (Elk and/ or Deer):
 Includes 1 guide for every 2 to 3 hunters, we provide meals and we supply drinks (tea, coffee & hot chocolate). We also provide rifle scabbards for muzzleloaders and rifles, horses, cots & pads to sleep on, wall tent, wood stove for heat & lanterns for  light during your stay. We also take game to processor so meat can be processed. Hunter needs to bring weapon, sleeping bag and personal gear. We limited this hunt up to 10 hunters in camp on any one season. Hunters for this hunt will pack in on Friday afternoon and pack out late Wednesday afternoon.

Spearpoint Ranch Northwest Colorado:
Elk, mule deer and antelope hunts are conducted with bow, gun or muzzleloader. Area we are hunting is over 200,000 acres. Gun Hunts:Hunts are conducted on BLM lands and private land near Maybell, Colorado. Hunters stay in a house trailer and cabins with hot showers and beds. Also provided are 2 hot meals, packed lunch, guides, packing out game and taking to processor. We customize to meet your needs. Hunts are done by 4 wheeldrive vehicles, walking and/or horseback. In is area we hunt game management units 3, 11, and 211. There are 2 gun seasons that bull elk licenses are sold over the counter unlimited in number. Deer tags are by draw only but are easily obtained thru the drawing.

Guided Archery and Muzzleloader Hunts for Deer and Elk:
Archery elk- either sex tags are sold over the counter. Hunts are conducted by calling and stalking and the use of some ground blinds. Mule deer tags are by draw only. Muzzleloader hunts in this area are conducted for elk and mule deer by calling and stalking and ground blinds. Muzzleloader elk tags are obtained by the statewide drawing for bull elk. This tag will take at least 1 point or more to draw. 

Wilderness Spike Camp:
We pack you in & out of a remote location by horseback. Provided at this camp: 1 cook and 1 guide per camp. Also provided: meals, firewood, water, wood stove, cots, pads, lanterns, wall tent and game packing included. There is a limit of 4 to 6 hunters per camp. There is a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 hunters for this camp. Hunters are expected to help with field dressing, quartering and some camp chores. There will be no riding horses used during the hunt. Horses will be provided on pack in and out days and also will be used to pack out game. This is a 5 day hunt.

Guided Archery and Muzzleloader Hunts for Elk and Deer (5 day hunt ):
We take hunters in unit 12 for elk and deer, the elk is a special draw. It will take 1-2 preference points to draw for this elk tag for archery. For muzzleloader it will take at least 5 preference points to draw elk tag for unit 12. You must apply by April 1, 2006. This hunt is packed in with horses, walking and riding horses to and from hunt area. Guides will put you in tree stands, ground blinds, game packing and lodging in tent camp. This hunt has been near 100% shooting at elk. 

Trophy Elks Hunts:  
We offer trophy bull elk hunting in GMU 2, 10, 201. These areas tags are hard to draw, but we have had landowner vouchers available to sell the hunter for a guaranteed tag. In these areas expect to see bulls 300 up to 390 class B/C bulls. We also offer trophy mule deer hunts in hunts in these units. 160 plus bucks to be seen on this hunt.

Cow Elk Hunts - units 10, 11, 3, & 211:
Cow Elk hunts run September thru December. This is a good opportunity to take home a lot of good meat and experience an elk hunting adventure with a lot less expense. This is a good family, youth and group hunt. Opportunities have been over 100% for this type of hunt. Tags are issued by draw only. Meals and lodging and guide are included.

Drop Camp Hunts:
We pack you and your gear into a remote location by horseback, where there is a good habitat and game population. All camping gear is supplied -- tent, cots, pads, cooking gear, etc. All you need is food, sleeping bag, license and weapon of choice. Firewood, water and game packing is included. Camps are setup for 2 to 6 people. The full trip entails 7 days, including pack 'in and out'. We limit you to gear of 70 lbs for timely packing. Drop camps are offered in Colorado and Utah.

Guided Rifle Elk & Deer Hunt (5 day hunt):
Transportation to hunt area is done by 4- wheel drive vehicles. Meals and lodging are in trailer house or home. Guide, packing out game and taking meat to processor included. Units hunted: 2, 3, 10 and 11.

Antelope Archery, Rifle:
It takes 7 to 8 preference points to draw an Antelope license for rifle. It takes 2 points to draw archery. Sometimes we have land owner tags. Hunts include: meals, lodging, guide, transportation, to hunt area by 4- Wheel drive. Units hunted are: 201, 2, 3, & 11

UTAH

Elk, Mule Deer, Moose & Mountain Goat (Weapon of choice)
Our Utah operation is conducted from the J/L Ranch which is located between Ashley National Forest and the Uinta and Ouray Indian Reservations, approximately 40 miles West of Vernal, Utah and 20 miles North of Roosevelt, Utah. J/L Ranch has an Outfitter/Guide priority use permit issued by the Ashley National Forest, Vernal Range District. Our permit covers a 57,000 acre roadless area in the high lakes region. We offer drop camps for elk/deer (unguided) where food/camping equipment is provided and they pack you in and pack you out at a pre-arranged time. Also available are fully guided (1 guide per hunter) 7-day hunts for moose or mountain goat....all by special draw permit (moose-$5000/mountain goat-$7000).

Horseback Pack Trips and Trout Fishing
Our 5 day pack-in trips include guide/cook/food/tent lodging in a secluded base camp setting surrounded by many lakes and 98 miles of trails. Fully guided trips are $1500 per person. Our approximately 100,000 acres offer over 80 lakes that are host to Brook Trout, Cutthroat and some Golden Trout. Some lakes offer Brookies up to 3 1/2 lbs and Cutthroat up to 5 lbs. They also have several miles of small streams for the avid fly-fisherman. These wild and fast streams yield smaller fish, 8-12 inches in length......a fun challenge!
